Regina Elizabeth Bremer

Regina Elizabeth Bremer, of Montgomery, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 28 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 77.
The daughter of the late James and Mary (Lodini) Rose, Regina was born on August 31, 1940 in Grassy Point, N.Y.
She was self-employed as a domestic house cleaner after working for many years as a waitress with Dubaldi’s Restaurant and Lloyd’s in Newburgh.
She was an active member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. “She was a light in so many lives,” her family said. “She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, wife and friend. Her spirit will be with us always. Her pain is over and her eternal reward in Heaven has only just begun.” She will be missed greatly and we will meet again.
Regina was predeceased by her loving husband Cornelius E. Bremer. She is survived by her sons James Bremer and his wife Kiersten, Neil Bremer and Richard Bremer; her daughters: Jean A. Kinsley and Suzanne Edwards; and her grandchildren Skylar, Lakelyn, Sean, Joseph, Lisa, Kelly, Faith, Matthew, Nathan, Brook, Richard and Shauna; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Regina’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
Elizabeth H. Clark
Died January 25, 2018
Formerly of Cornwall
Elizabeth H. Clark (nee Hulka) passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 25. She was born in Victory Mills, NY, the daughter of the late George and Anna Hulka.
She graduated from Saratoga Springs High School with Department Honors in French, as well as scholarship honors. She earned a B.A. from NY State College for Teachers in Albany and a M.A. from Paterson State College, NJ.
She married Henry F. Clark in 1942 and they raised their three children together in Dumont, N.J. He predeceased her in 1984.
After Henry passed away, she moved to Cornwall to be near daughter Carole Hunt and helped with the Hunt’s four children. She became president of the Cornwall Golden Agers and found new travel buddies.
She taught second grade in Bergenfield, NJ for 25 years. In 1987, she was named Teacher of the Year and was honored at the NJ Governors Teachers Recognition Program.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 at Compassionate Funeral Care, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Family and friends may call from 12 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

August C. Reberholt, Sr., affectionately known as “Augie,” passed away Friday, Jan. 26 at Sky View Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Croton-on-Hudson. He was 83 years old.
Son of the late Master Sgt. Carl A. Reberholt and Hedwig Mahler Reberholt Vincent, he was born March 21, 1934 in West Point.
Augie was a retired detective with Palisades Interstate Park Police, Bear Mountain, as well as a retired B.C.I. investigator for Rockland County Sheriffs Dept., New City. He was a member of Palisades Interstate P.B.A. and Jason Conklin F.O.P. Lodge 957.
Augie is survived by his loving wife, Stella M. Reberholt; son August C. Reberholt, Jr. and wife Michelle; daughters Cheryl A. Donnelly and Janet A. Reberholt; three grandchildren, Jeff, Greg & Anne; four great-grandchildren, Eva, Adam, Ella & Lily; and nieces and nephews.
Augie was predeceased by his brother Albert Reberholt.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Sacred Heart Church, Highland Falls. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope.

Adele K. Shargel

Adele K. Shargel, 93 of Cornwall entered into rest on Jan. 27. The daughter of the Louis and Lena (Pedlosky) Kornbluth, she was born Aug. 9, 1924 in Newark, N.J. She married the love of her life, Alfred Shargel, on December 25, 1946 in Newark, NJ, and they were married until his passing in 1979.
Adele was a graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark; received her bachelor’s degree in education from Montclair State College; and her master’s degree in education from NYU. She was a high school teacher (38 years) for Newark Board of Education; and enjoyed a second career as a sales associate for Lord & Taylor, Livingston, N.J. (25 years). She was a lifetime member of Hadassah, and served with Literacy Volunteers of America.
Adele touched and impacted the lives of countless people. After retiring and moving to New York, she was a literacy volunteer and a volunteer at the Cornwall Hospital Gift Shop; she enjoyed giving her time and helping people whenever she could. She treasured spending time with family and friends and being a part of their lives.
Survivors include her daughters, Judith Koss and husband Donald of Raleigh, N.C., and Jane Reiss and husband David of Cornwall-on-Hudson; grandchildren, Everett Reiss and wife Ashley of Philadelphia, and Alison Koss of Raleigh; great-granddaughter, Madeline Reiss; four nieces and one nephew. In addition to her husband Alfred, she was predeceased by her son, Lawrence Shargel, and sisters, Ruth Meisler and Sunya Levine.
A graveside service was held on Jan. 30 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, N.J.
