Police found Heather Ledford in Dutchess County this week, a few days after she had been added to the state’s Missing Persons Database.
The 27-year-old woman had been living with her boyfriend and children in Cornwall-on-Hudson until she left of her own accord on Nov. 24.
Her boyfriend filed a missing persons report, which led to the police finding Ms. Ledford in the City of Newburgh on Nov. 26. She was staying with a friend and appeared to be Ok. Since she had left home voluntarily, there was no reason for police to bring her back.
But after Nov. 26, her family never heard from her again, causing her father to contact the police on Dec. 7. Chief Steve Dixon initiated a second search, and informed us yesterday evening that Ms. Ledford had been found
