Jeanne Halvorsen, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Oct. 14, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Dorothy (Pavek) White, Jeanne was born on Feb. 11, 1935 in Manhattan.
She was a retired Data Processor for St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall, and a member of the Highland Engine Ladies Auxiliary.
“To the outside world, Jeanne probably seemed to be shy, quiet and a private person,” her family said. “With her family, Jeanne is remembered as funny, often sharing a ‘behind the scenes,’ well timed quip, and enjoying a robust laugh. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing virtual word games with her grandchildren and others. Within the family, Jeanne was legendary for her organization and envelope/money management skills. Jeanne enjoyed and loved her family very much. She will be missed greatly.”
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, George J. Halvorsen at home; her daughters: Michele Powell and husband Steven, Cheryl A. Gatterdum and husband Dennis, Darlene M.Sarchino and husband Joseph, all of Cornwall; her son: Joseph Halvorsen and his wife Joyce of Cornwall-on-Hudson; her cherished grandchildren: Sarah, Matthew, Kristen, Nichole and her husband Steve, Katie, Allison, Amanda and Josh; and her sister-in-law Lea White. Jeanne was predeceased by her brother Robert White.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-on-Hudson,. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct.20 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.

Betty Anne McGuinness

Betty Anne McGuinness, formerly of Cornwall, passed away on Oct. 11 at Heather Hills Gulfside Hospice in New Port Richey, Fla. after a short illness. She was 88 years old.
The daughter of the late Harold and Gladys Appleby, she was born on Feb. 3, 1929 in Auburn, N.Y.
Betty was a retired clerk for Majestic Weaving Company in Cornwall. She retired to Florida in 1990 with her husband, Joseph W. McGuinness, who predeceased her in 2002.
She is survived by her loving children: Joseph Kerry McGuinness and wife Renita of Cornwall, Eileen Tracey and husband Michael of Florida, Jeanne Barnes and husband John of Florida; and Michael McGuinness and wife Cindy of Cornwall; siblings Russell Appleby of Cornwall, Shirley Stevenson of Dublin, Ga., Gwen Seelman of Anaheim, Calif. Betty will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Stacie Carr, Florida; Vicki Charbonneau, New York; Keller McGuinness, Massachusetts, Kate Wright, New York Mallory Farley-McGuinness, New York and Matthew McGuinness, New York as well as nine great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors on Oct. 14 at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, New Port Richey, Fla. Services and burial took place on Oct. 16 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.

Daniel D. Trzeciak

Daniel D. Trzeciak, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Oct. 4 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. He was 75 years old.
The son of the late Peter Trzeciak and Mary (Sapilewski) Trzeciak, Daniel was born on April 19, 1942 in Niagara Falls.
He received an Associates in Arts degree from Niagara County Community College.
Daniel had held a position with the Army Athletics Assoc.,U.S.M.A. at West Point. He previously worked in business as a Systems Analyst.
He was an amateur hockey player and played baseball in his youth. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing earlier in life. He also enjoyed crabbing on the Hudson River. He was an avid sports fan.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Lorraine C. (Casper) Trzeciak; his daughters: Darlene Kassa, Carolyn Trzeciak, and Kathleen Milano; his son, Brian Trzeciak; and his six granddchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 14 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation was at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Marjorie L. “Peggy” Wilson

Marjorie L. “Peggy” Wilson, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Tuesday, Oct. 10. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Schriener Seifts, she was born on Feb. 26, 1929 in Franklin Square, N.Y.
Peggy was a local artist who loved painting, the outdoors, and most of all, her family.
Survivors include: son David Eastabrooks and wife Gerry of Ohio; son Robert Wilson and wife Ellen of North Carolina; daughter Laurie Parmerter and husband Tony of Cornwall; son William Wilson, Jr. and wife Stacey of Cornwall; son James Wilson and wife Dana of Wappingers Falls; nine grandchildren: David, Amber, Scotty, Sarah, Jessica, Heather, Jennifer, Stephen, Hunter; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Eastabrooks and by her grandson, Christopher Eastabrooks.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
