Helen Kimmenau Favre, a lifelong resident, passed away on July 21 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was 92.
The daughter of the late Henry Kimmenau and the late Mary Meara Kimmenau of Highland Falls, she was born on Sept. 15, 1924. She retired after many years with the Transportation Department (motor pool) at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She also worked at the Ladycliff College Library.
Helen was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish, Highland Falls, for most of her life. She was an alumnus of Sacred Heart School and Highland Falls High School. She was a member of the Highland Falls Garden Club.
Survivors include four sons — LeRoy Jr. and wife Theresa of Fort Montgomery, Richard and wife Mary of Schenectady, David and wife Kerry of Fort Montgomery, and William of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 7 grandchildren Erik, Richard Jr,, Kimberly Hoyt, Erin Phelan, Michele Wilcox, Alison Paruolo and David Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren: Jordan, Kierstyn, Madison, Julie, Caiden, Karlee, Charlotte, Kaitlyn, Emerson, Samantha, RiLynn and Alan; nieces, great nieces and nephews.
Helen is predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, LeRoy Sr. and by her sister Dolores Hanretta.
A memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY 10928.

Ellyn Diedre Mulrenin, a former Cornwall resident, died at her home in Falls Church, Va.. on Dec. 12, 2016. Her family has arranged for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Susan VanBuskirk

Susan VanBuskirk, formerly of Cornwall, died on July 23 at Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte, Fla. after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on April 6, 1958 in the US Army Hospital at Fort Devens, Mass. to Johanna VanBuskirk and the late Maj. Kenneth VanBuskirk II.
Susan graduated from Cornwall Central High School in 1976 and then went on to receive an associate’s degree from SUNY Delhi. She moved to Florida in 1979 where she raised two wonderful children. Susan returned to college and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Barry University in 2005. She followed her passion for teaching to East Elementary school in Punta Gorda, Fla. Susan’s love of all students was a part of her everyday life. She was a beloved teacher, colleague, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend – she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Mappes of Punta Gorda and Matthew Mappes of Arcadia, Fla.; and granddaughter Taylor Mappes. She is also survived by her mother Johanna VanBuskirk of Cornwall. Her siblings are Kenneth VanBuskirk III of Somerville, Mass. and Sarah (John) Harrington of Terrace Park, Ohio and their daughters Maeve and Frances.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, Fla. on Aug. 5.

Mary Voge

Mary Voge of Cornwall-on-Hudson passed away on Aug. 14 at the age of 99.
The daughter of Wasyl and Anna (Bolosh) Sechak, she was born in Palmerton, Penn. on July 9, 1918. She lived in Manhattan and the Bronx, where she was a salesperson for Macy’s, before retiring to Cornwall-on-Hudson in 1992.
She is survived by her two daughters Patricia Jones (husband Glyn) of Monterey, Calif. and Susan Voge of Cornwall-on-Hudson. She also has two grandchildren, Heather Dale Jones of Malibu, Calif. and Evan Melvil Jones of West Hollywood, Calif. Her husband Melvil Dewey Voge predeceased her in 1999.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Quigley Bros. Funeral Home.
