Donna Ann Colombo

Donna Ann Colombo, age 56, was a longtime resident of Highland Mills before moving to Ocala, Fla. in 2006. She passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 1. Donna was born on July 10, 1960, in Queens, New York to Dorothy Ward and Malcolm McEntee. She was one of three children.
Survivors include her son, James Skoufis and his wife Hillary; and her daughter, Melissa O’Neal and her husband Cory, who recently became parents to Donna’s grandson Colton. She is also survived by her partner Brian Eppinger; sister Janet DeLuca; and brother Robert McEntee.
Donna worked as a supervisor at the United States Postal Service for many years before opening and running her own dance school in Orange County. A graduate of New York City’s High School of Performing Arts, Donna touched so many people with her passion for dance and life. In Ocala, she comforted others as a home health aide.
She will be sorely missed by family as well as scores of friends in New York and Florida. In heaven, she joins her husband, John Colombo, who predeceased her in 2006, and her mother, Dorothy McEntee of Ocala, who recently predeceased her in January 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10 at St. Patrick’s Church, 26 Hunter Street, Highland Mills with the Reverend Joseph Tyrrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forget Me Knot Equine Rescue, at 1250 SW 140th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34481 in memory of Donna.
Robert Munson
October 17, 1955-May 24, 2017
Formerly of Cornwall
Robert Munson, of Newburgh, passed away on Wednesday, May 24. He was 61.
The son of the late William R. Munson and Margaret Johnson Strom, he was born on Oct. 17, 1955 in Cornwall.
Robert graduated from Cornwall Central High School. He was employed by Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. in Newburgh. He loved helping people and in return, was loved by all those who knew him. Robert was a loving brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, and he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his two sisters: Doreen Boy of Washington, and Debra Cheatham of Florida; uncles: Stephen and Edward Johnson of Cornwall; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service in Willow Dell Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of James F. Lulves Funeral Home.
Bruce A. Newell
June 5, 1935 – June 1, 2017
Highland Falls
Bruce A. Newell, of Highland Falls, passed away Thursday June 1 at Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Croton-on-Hudson. He was 81 years old.
The son of the late Harry Newell and Miriam Green Newell, he was born June 5, 1935 in Cornwall.
Bruce was a supervisor of the Sheet Metal and Roofing Department at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point. He enjoyed power lifting competitions and playing golf and softball with his friends. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bruce is predeceased by his wife Dorothy Grey Newell.
Survivors include his sons Bret J. Newell Sr. and wife Kimberly of Highland Falls, and Jeffrey J. Newell and girlfriend Kim Harcher of Highland Falls; his sister Joyce A. Fortino of Fort Montgomery; and his two grandchildren Bret J. Newell Jr. and Dakota D. Newell.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Joseph Tokarczyk took place on Thursday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Eagle Valley Cemetery, Town of Highlands.
