Jo Emily Stacy

Jo Emily Stacy, Highland Falls High School Class of 1967 and resident of New Smyrna Beach Florida, died April 11, 2017 after a long battle with emphysema. Jo was known for her generosity and acts of kindness to all creatures great and small, family, friends, and anyone else she could reach.
Jo was born in Coronado, California on August 26, 1949. She grew up in a military family with eight brothers and sisters, and traveled throughout the country and the world during her childhood and her adult life.
Jo managed JB’s restaurant in New Smyrna Beach for over 20 years. She was a talented artist and created beautiful teddy bears collected by enthusiasts all over the country. She also sculpted tiny landscapes populated by elves, fairies, mermaids and little creatures of the sea and forest, and sold them at local art fairs such as the Art Fiesta and Flamingo Follies. Some of her pieces can be found in museums. Jo practiced yoga most of her adult life, and was part of a loving circle of local yogi practitioners.
She is survived by her husband Richard LeBlonde; godchildren Katy, Stephanie and Ben Best; brothers Ted, Tom, Jim and Dan; and sisters Becky, Mary Ann, Julie and Bobbi Lou.
She was proceeded in death by her son Steven Kulbacki in 1977; her father Thomas J. Stacy in 1992; and her mother Mary Ann Young Stacy in 1999.
Jo’s life was celebrated by family and close friends at a gathering at her home in New Smyrna Beach on Saturday, April 15. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to your favorite animal-welfare organization.
Ann Marie (Schirmer) Tschan

Anne Marie Tschan, 77 of Washingtonville, passed away on April 10 after a short illness.
Anne Marie was born in the Bronx on Sept. 26, 1939 to Frank and Elsie Schirmer. She grew up at Beaver Dam Lake in Salisbury Mills and attended St. Thomas of Canterbury and Cornwall Central High School before earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Good Council Catholic College in White Plains and Graduate School Certification from SUNY New Paltz.
Anne Marie was married to Frank Tschan on June 23, 1962 in Cornwall; they were married for 25 years before his untimely passing.
Anne Marie taught in Cornwall and Washingtonville schools and later worked as a Clerk/Records Manager for the Town of Blooming Grove.
In 1972, with three young sons, Anne Marie and Frank relocated to Tomahawk Lake in Blooming Grove.
Her community involvement included Cub Scouts, Little League, Choral Society, CCD, as well as attending every sports event, concert, play, and ceremony that her three sons participated in-a trend she continued throughout their college and professional careers. Anne Marie lived in Washingtonville during her retirement years and was thankful for the caring neighbors and friends she found at the Weathervane Condominium Complex. Later in her life, Anne Marie loved spending as much time as she could with her Grandchildren, Sophia and Emma. Throughout Anne Marie’s journey of life, family always came first.
Anne Marie is survived by her sons: Stephen of Bay Village Ohio, Kenneth of Goshen, NY, Francis and his wife, Catharina and their daughters, Sophia and Emma of Wilmette, Illinois; brother, Edward Schirmer of South Burlington, Vt., nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She served us well and now she rests in peace.
Her family received visitors on April 13 at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, in Washingtonville. Interment was private.
