Dolores A. Biddiscombe

January 25, 1936-February 6, 2017

Cornwall

Dolores A. Biddiscombe, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Feb. 6 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.  She was 81 years old.

The daughter of Martin William Kuhl and Madeleine Hager Kuhl, she was born on Jan. 25, 1936 in the Bronx.

Dolores retired as an Admissions Clerk for Cornwall Hospital after many years of dedicated service. She went out of her way to welcome and comfort patients as they entered for care and always greeted them with a warm smile.

Dolores was a fun-loving woman who especially loved her family and friends. She was always planning a trip, trying a new restaurant or planning some other special outing.

Dolores lived in Cornwall with her long-time companion, Frank York, and was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Biddiscombe. She is survived by her sons, Kevin and his wife Karen in Wallkill, Wayne and his wife Grace of Charleston, S.C.; her daughter, Lori and her fiancé Henry of Dix Hills, Long Island; six grandchildren, Brittany, Henry, Connor, Stephanie, Stephan and Christopher; a step-grandchild Scott Russo and three great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors  at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc. in New Windsor on Feb. 10 and 11. There was a brief  service at the funeral home.

John A. “Jack” Werner

February 13, 1936-February 12, 2017

Formerly of Cornwall

John A. Werner, Jr., a former long-time resident of Cornwall, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 12 at Elant at Fishkill. He was 80 years old.

The son of the late John A. Werner, Sr. and Gertrude Martin Werner, Jack was born on Feb. 13, 1936 in Cornwall.

He retired from the Town of Cornwall Highway Department and was a Life Member of Highland Engine Co. #1, Cornwall, NY.

Jack is survived by his son, Glenn Werner; his daughters, Michelle Werner and Kimberly Werner; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Bunny) J. Clark of Montgomery.

Visitation was held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall.
