The family of Hugh Hunton Hurst, Jr. shares his passing to the great baseball diamond in the sky on Dec. 30 at the age of 85.
Hugh loved athletics, playing soccer, basketball, and baseball at Ithaca College before serving in the U.S. Army in Occupied Germany. He continued his athletic pursuits overseas returning to the U.S. to teach and coach at Fort Plain High School for seven years. Hugh returned to his Alma Matter, Ithaca College to coach basketball and baseball while sharing his love of teaching and the outdoors as a physical education professor. Later, Hugh was the athletic director for the Valley Central School District in Montgomery.
Hugh is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Struble) Hurst. Hugh was an active participant in the lives of his four children Thomas Hurst (Colleen) of Sodus Mich., Jeffrey Hurst (Robin) of Bloomingburg, Karin (Hurst) Skarka (Brian) of Ballston Spa, and Christopher Hurst (Carrie) of New Windsor. He was also active in the lives of his grandchildren: Katie (Hurst) Schultz and Rachel Hurst; Dylan, Trevor, and Nicholas Hurst; Paul and Kraig Skarka; Morgan, Connor, Mackenzie, and Kaylie Hurst. At his passing, Hugh had three great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass took place on Saturday, January 21 at St. Paul’s Church, 2800 Rt. 17K, Bullville. Burial followed at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen. Funeral arrangements are by the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. www.gridleyhoran.com.

Charles Anthony Kimbrough passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18. He was 50.
Anthony, as he was know to many, was dedicated to helping his community and up and coming artists through his label 845R8dio. He loved sports, music and helping others.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Karen Ann Kimbrough and the late George Peter Connors. He and his family moved to Highland Falls in 1982 and lived in Newburgh 20+ years. He graduated from James I. O’Neill High School in 1984 and joined the Army.
He is survived by his family: mother Karen Ann Kimbrough; wife Marcia Kimbrough; children Charles Kimbrough (Tamara Mouten) of Highland Falls, Latoya Kimbrough, Ebonie Kimbrough, both of Frederick, Md., Octavian Kimbrough of Highland Falls, Liza Campiz and their five children, Cortlandt Kimbrough of Watertown, Christopher Kimbrough, Shondell Hendrix, Anthony Campiz all of Newburgh, and Christina Campiz of Brooklyn; his companion of 20+ years Christina Clark and nine children and a host of grand and great grandchildren.
Anthony is pre-deceased by his father, Peter Connors; brother Maurice Connors; paternal grandmother Margie Connors; maternal grandparents Willie and Clara Kimbrough; and maternal grandmother Leatha Dyes.
Mr. Kimbrough will repose 4-6 P.M. Thursday, January 26 at St. John AME Zion Church, Highland Falls. Funeral service will be at 6 P.M. at the church with Rev. Moses Carter, Sr. officiating. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor.
Margaret “Peggy” Conley Sebesta

On Jan. 22 Margaret “Peggy” Conley Sebesta entered into eternal life. She was 74. The daughter of the late Mary (Bates) and Albert Conley, Peggy was born on Jan. 22, 1943 in Cornwall. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Sebesta, Jr.
Peggy was a retired home health care aide from The Orange County Health Department.
A loyal servant of the Lord, Peggy sang in the choir and was a lay reader at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cornwall.
Her family will forever miss her but will cherish the memories of vacations to Florida and Lake George as well as camping at the Neversink River Campground. Peggy was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and wife. She loved helping others and would give the shirt off her back to a total stranger.
Survivors include her daughters: Paula Sebesta and fiancé Donny Howard of Cornwall; Kristen Sebesta Boyle (Jack) of Newburgh, Patricia Bates (Kenny) of New Windsor and Carmen Jimenez (Bobbie) of Sanford, Fla. Her sons: James Sebesta (Karin) of Cornwall and Paul G Sebesta (Linda) of Deltona, Fla. Her grandchildren: Raymond, Tyler, Paul and Joey Sebesta, Eddie, Lesia and Robert Jimenez, Kenny, Cobey and Brian Bates, Jennifer and Sean Boyle, her grand puppies Liberty and Paisley, and 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on its way. Brothers: Joel and E. James Conley. Sister: Mary Jane Conley and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Albert N. Conley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 66 Clinton Street, Cornwall, and will be followed by cremation at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope.
