Norman H. Jenkeleit
January 16, 1966-November 17, 2016
Norman H. Jenkeleit, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Nov. 17 at home with his loving family by his side. He was 50.
The son of the late Harry Jenkeleit and Marianne Henke Jenkeleit, Norman was born on January 16, 1966 in New York City.
He was a pharmacist for CVS in Cornwall and a graduate of St. John’s University School of Pharmacy. He chose his profession so he could help people. Norman was a loving father, husband and friend to all of us lucky enough to be in his life. He fought his illness under his terms, living to the fullest, always at peace with God’s plan. He considered himself blessed to have been given a year to spend meaningful time with his family. His strength through adversity is a lesson we hope his children will carry through life.
In addition to his mother, Marianne Jenkeleit of Queens, Norman is survived by his loving wife, Laura M. Jenkeleit at home; his children, Ian H. Jenkeleit, Christina L. Jenkeleit, Erin M. Jenkeleit and Kaitlyn P. Jenkeleit, all at home; his brother Ralph Jenkeleit and sister-in-law Heide of Queens; their children Kelsey, Eric and Thomas; his mother-in-law Patricia Pinotti of Split Rock, Penn.; his sister-in-law Patricia McCrone of Reston, Va.; her children Colette, Tara and Sean ; his sister-in-law Regina Shields and husband John of Narberth, Penn.; their children Grace, Lucy and Hugh; his sister-in-law Bernadette Hitt and husband Patrick of Brooklyn; their children John and Isabelle; his brother-in-law John Pinotti and his wife JoAnne of Suffern; their children Eloise and Schaefer.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 26 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Gladys G. Shearer

Gladys G. Shearer of Cornwall passed away on Nov. 16 surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.
The daughter of the late Leonard and Shirley Gorton, she was born on April 9, 1929 in Liberty, N.Y.
Gladys graduated from Cornwall High School and was a retired data processor at Cornwall Hospital. She was a member of the Cornwall Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Cornwall Homemakers. She loved to knit, crochet and spend time with her friends. Gladys was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be missed by so many.
Gladys is survived by her daughter Susan Blaine (Donald) of Cornwall, son Glenn Shearer (Chona) of Wallkill, daughter Lynn Rice (David) of Hutschenhausen, Germany, and daughter-in-law Melanie Shearer of Newburgh; grandchildren: David Blaine (Jennifer), Eric Shearer and Emily Berchild (Bobby) ; great grandchild Beau Berchild; sisters: Georgina Lark (William), and Myrtle Bernarbo (Paul); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Shearer, her son Stephen Shearer and her sister Marie Woods.
Friends called on the family on Sunday, Nov. 20, at James F. Lulves Funeral Home in, Cornwall-on-Hudson. A funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home, and was followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
