Those in need of relief from the heat can find it at Cornwall’s cooling center located at the Cornwall Ambulance Bay, 1 Clinton St. The cooling center will be open until 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Enter the Cornwall Ambulance Building meeting hall on the Clinton Street side parking lot.
Heat can be dangerous for anyone, warned Cornwall Officer of Emergency Management Kurt Hahn. Some people are at risk of serious health effects – even death – from getting overheated. Check on your neighbors, family and friends, especially those who are elderly or have special needs.
