Michael Finkelstein
Michael Finkelstein was born in Cornwall 70 years ago to Nathan and Sylvia Finkelstein. He loved to play baseball and basketball. He graduated SUNY Brockport with a degree in English Literature, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years of dedicated service. Mike lived in New Jersey most of his adult life, but moved to Rockland County in October 2007. He enjoyed watching movies and his beloved, but hapless, New York Knicks.
He is survived by his brothers, Steve Finkelstein of Clifton, N.J. and William Stein of Nyack.
He was buried at Temple Beth Jacob Cemetery in Newburgh on July 28.

Thomas F. Starkey
December 29, 1992-July 25, 2016
Thomas F. Starkey, “the Stark,” of New Windsor, entered into rest on July 25 at age 23.
Born on Dec. 29, 1992 in Newburgh, he was graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and served in the US Army at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was the beloved son of Linda (Lawrence) and Donald Starkey, loving brother of Donald Howard Starkey, beloved grandson of Donald George Lawrence, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Thomas had a true love for local sports, starting with New Windsor Little League and New Windsor Eagles Football. He later played varsity football and baseball for NFA. He also enjoyed playing travel baseball for the New Windsor Cyclones, Orange County Reds and Newburgh Nuclears.
His family was due to receive visitors on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, with burial following in Mount Saint Francis Cemetery in New Windsor.
