Homestead opened this morning

Historical Society President Susan Kamlet was one of the speakers at today's ceremony.

Close to 100 people attended the ribbon cutting for the Sands Ring Homestead this morning.

Colleen Zlock, the president of the Friends of Sands Ring, and Town Supervisor Richard Randazzo snipped the ribbon to officially open the building. Afterwards, guests had a chance to admire the refurbished interior.

The building will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 4. Camp groups will visit the Homestead later in the summer. And there’s a possibility of classes visiting the site during the school year.
