Francis E. Doyno

May 18, 1924-April 13, 2016

Francis E Doyno, age 91, passed away on April 13, at Carolina Village in Hendersonville N.C. after a brief illness.

The son of Robert and Christine Doyno, he was born in the Bronx on May 18, 1924. He is survived by four children, Donna Wood of Dacula Ga., Frank Doyno of Olathe Kan., Tina Schmidt of Cornwall and Robert Doyno of Wesley Chapel  Fla.

He is also survived by a brother Ernest F. Doyno of Vernon Ariz., grandchildren Heidi Osborne of Newburgh, Brian Wood of East Haddam Conn., William Wood of Bethlehem Ga., Michael Schmidt of Cornwall, Randy Schmidt and Jessica Schmidt both of Cornwall. Also surviving are two great grandchildren Alexandra Wood of Dacula Ga. and Liam Wood of Bethlehem Ga. He was predeceased by spouses Dorothy, the mother of his children, Margaret and Helen.

Prior to a long career as produce manager at the A&P Company in the New York area, he served his country in the military during World War II. A member of the Third Marine Division in the South Pacific he saw action in Guam, Saipan and Iwo Jima.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. The family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice in his memory.

Jackson Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.

Anna F. MacMorran

July 17, 1922-April 12, 2016

Anna F. MacMorran 93, passed away in the state of Florida on April 12.  Born on July 17, 1922 in Cornwall, she retired from the Cornwall Police Department, where she worked as a dispatcher.

She is survived by her husband James W. MacMorran(Will).  They were boyfriend and girlfriend together for 80 years, married for 73 years.  They were married while he was in the U.S. Army in Colorado Springs.

Survivors include:  Sons David and spouse Lou Ann;  Ronald and partner Diane;  Daughters Susan and spouse Mike;  Patricia and spouse Jeff.  Grandchildren Tammy, Jason, Keith, James, Rebecca and Kimberly;  and five great grandchildren.  There will be no services.  The family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Fl 33881.

Forest Lee Record

June 16, 1934-March 11, 2016

Forest Lee Record of Virginia Beach, Va. died on March 11 after a short illness. The son of the  late Forest and Mildred Robinson Record, he was born on June 16, 1934. He was married to Carla Rice Record, who predeceased him in 1996.

Lee was a graduate of Cornwall-on-Hudson High School and Colorado State University, where he majored in agronomy. He served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Bennington. After his discharge from the service, he was employed in the Green Section of the United States Golf Association, and later worked for the Chemlawn Corporation.

Lee had a big heart and generously gave his time and expertise to anyone who needed help. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter Jeanne Thomas and her husband Mathew; his son Garret Record; his grandchildren Mathew, Marshall, Morgan, Madison and her husband Andrew; his sister Janet Leontovich and her husband Alan.

There will be no visitation. Interment was in Willow Dell Cemetery under the direction of Quigley Brothers Funeral Home.

Patricia A. Starr

January 19, 1959-April 13, 2016

Patricia A. Starr, of Washingtonville, a former long- time resident of Highland Falls, entered into eternal rest on April 13 at home. She was 57 years old.

The daughter of the late Charles Starr and Lorraine Polkowski Starr, she was born on January 19, 1959 in Cornwall.

Patricia graduated from of James I. O’Neill High School in 1977, and was employed as an aide at the former Letchworth Village in Stony Point.

She is survived by her Uncle Edward Polkowski and his wife Joan of Washingtonville, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Christopher Starr.

Visitation and a funeral service were held on Wednesday, April 20 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, N.Y., with interment of cremains to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall at a later date.
