Second-grader finds golden egg

A year ago, parents and organizers shivered in the cold, as kids scoured the grounds behind Town Hall in search of the golden egg. It took them a half hour to find it.

This year’s Easter Egg Hunt was different. The weather on March 26 was tolerable. The hunt started at precisely 10 a.m., and within a few minutes Sophia Frohnhoefer discovered the elusive egg near the roots of the tree.

Sophia is in the second grade at Willow Avenue School. She received a Samsung Tablet as her prize, and then smiled for a picture with the Easter Bunny as well as Tave Graham of the Cornwall Fire Department.

The Highland Engine Co. sponsored the event and donated hundreds of prize.
