Boys fall to Bushemen in non-league basketball

“Have you noticed our guys aren’t going away?” Cornwall’s Tom Howe said in the second half against Pine Bush. The coach’s observation was valid. The Dragons picked up intensity after the intermission. But it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the game. The visiting Bushmen won 74-44 on Jan. 4 to remain undefeated.

Jason Bailey had a career high 26 points for the Dragons, which included seven baskets from behind the arc. Most of these occurred on plays where he stopped short, jumped and released the ball with a low trajectory.

The high scoring game raised his season average to 16.1. Chris Robinson added eight points on close range shots in the second half. The Dragons, with a 3-6 record, host a league game against Goshen on Jan. 8
