Martha Rennie Cobb

Martha “Markie” Cobb, a longtime resident of the Hudson Valley, passed away on Oct. 28.
The daughter of Allison Rennie and Sarah Rennie, Markie was born in Kansas City, Mo. on April 29, 1938.
Markie was a graduate of Cedar Crest College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Most of her career was spent in marketing and sales. She was involved in several local organizations, including the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, where she was on the board for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed many cultural arts including movies, Broadway plays, and the ballet.
Markie was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert T Cobb. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Leedom and her husband, Andy of Reisterstown, Md., her grandson, Quinn, and her sister and brother, Christine Rennie of Hoboken, N.J., and John Rennie of Durham, N.C.

Catherine Jane Templeton
Died October 17, 2015
Catherine Jane Templeton, 82, a retired registered nurse from Orlando, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17 from congestive heart failure. She was surrounded by her five children and most of her 17 grandchildren, many of whom she helped raise. A one-time resident of Cornwall, she spent the end of her life at her daughter’s home in Laurel, Maryland, where family and friends visited and cared for her.
Mrs. Templeton was a native of Goshen, where she was married and raised her family until she moved to Florida in 1983. She received a degree in nursing from Fordham University and took additional classes at Columbia University. She earned her BSN at Mt. Saint Mary’s College in Newburgh, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She achieved this distinction as a single mother of five children after the untimely death of her husband, Warren. Mrs. Templeton also took courses towards her master’s degree at the University of Florida.
Despite her serious health issues in the last three years, Mrs. Templeton retained her passionate devotion to her family, her sharp sense of humor and her lifelong love of books.
Mrs. Templeton is survived by her three daughters, Dale Templeton (Ray McInerney), Nancy Templeton, Colleen Ryan, (Paul), her two sons, James Templeton (Sara) and David Templeton (Maura), and by her 17 grandchildren, a great-grandson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Her husband, Warren, died in 1975. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Adrienne Bond and Doris Davis, and her brother David Maloney.
A funeral mass will be held in her memory at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13 at St. John’s Church in Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Maloney Family Nursing Scholarship,115 South Street Middletown, NY, 10940 Att: Vinnie Cazzetta.
