Ryan Joseph Moran

June 1, 1994-September 18, 2015

Ryan Joseph Moran of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Sept.18 at Westchester Medical Center.  He was 21.

The son of Sharon and the late Thomas Moran, a former NYS Police Investigator, Ryan was born on June 1, 1994 in Newburgh.

He was a kind and loving person who cared greatly for his family. He was a wonderful son, brother, cousin and friend.

Ryan was a PC Gamer enthusiast with online gamer friends all over the world. He also enjoyed attending car shows with friends. He was an avid motorcyclist and was always happy riding and exploring the hills of the Hudson Valley.

Ryan had decided to enlist in the Marine Corps with the full support of his family. He dedicated his time to training for his enrollment in January 2016.  He will be missed greatly and always remembered.

Besides his father, Ryan was predeceased by his grandfather, Thomas Moran, Sr., grandparents William and Rosemarie O’Neill and uncle, Kevin O’Neill.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Moran, brothers, Sean and Matthew Moran of Cornwall; grandmother Patricia Moran of Valley Cottage; uncles and aunts Marcus O’Neill of Camillus; James and Johanna O’Neill of New City; Robert and Susan O’Neill of Chester; James and Francine Moran of Basking Ridge, N.J. and Michael Moran of Monroe; cousins Kaitlyn O’Neill; Kyle, Jessica and Jade O’Neill; and Alana and Tyler O’Neill; numerous relatives from Boston, Mass. and Forest City, Penn. and several close friends.

Visitation was held on Sept. 22 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Sept. 23, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson with Fr. Rees Doughty officiating.  Cremation was at Cedar Hill Crematory, in Middle Hope.

Anne (Tiffert) Wohltjen

March 15, 1930-September 19, 2015

Anne (Tiffert) Wohltjen, 85, of Gainesville Va., died Sept. 19. She was born on March 15, 1930 in Bronx, NY to the late Frank and Frances Tiffert.

Anne graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, and was married to Warren Wohltjen on Aug. 19, 1950.   She was a long time resident of Cornwall, where she was a teacher in the school system before retiring and living in Summerville S.C., Edgewater Fla., Statesboro Ga., Mansfield Texas and finally Gainesville Va.   She is survived by her husband Warren, daughter Amy and husband John Dickison in Rowley Mass., son Eric and wife Dawn in Alexandria VA, and two grandchildren Megan and Brenden.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
