The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Village Hall, 325 Hudson St., in order to authorize retention of outside counsel to challenge Kiryas Joel’s annexation and to authorize an inter-municipal agreement among eight municipalities and to discuss other matters that may come before the board.
At 4:30 p.m., on Sept. 15, the Orange County Legislature will hold a special meeting at the Emergency Services Building auditorium, 22 Wells Farm Road, Goshen, for the purpose of taking up a resolution authorizing the retention of outside legal counsel to provide legal advice and to represent the county in litigation in connection with environmental review and petitions for the annexation of lands from the Town of Monroe to the Village of Kiryas Joel.
The legislature will enter into an executive session to discuss with legislative counsel and the county attorney on the potential for litigation regarding the environmental review and Kiryas Joel annexation. The legislature will take a short recess and reconvene at 5 p.m., in the auditorium, to vote on the proposed resolution. No further business will be considered.
