Robert C. Mains Sr.

August 4, 1944-August 11, 2015

Robert C. Mains, Sr. of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into rest on Tuesday, Aug. 11. He was 71.

The son of the late Arthur W. and Dorothy Conklin Mains, Sr. he was born on Aug. 4, 1944 in Cornwall.

Robert was a paratrooper in the US Army. He was retired from Nepera Chemicals and was employed by Genpak. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor. He also loved spending time at bingo with his wife.  Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be deeply missed.

Survivors include Margaret, his loving wife of 47 years; daughter, Gina Marie Mains; son, Robert C. Mains, Jr.; granddaughter, Skye Alexander; sisters, Deanna Hembree, Gloria Roberts, and Shirley Lewis of Highland Falls; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur and John Mains, and sister Donna Protuck.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.  A funeral service was held during visiting hours.
