Mary T. Cavanagh
January 13, 1931-July 17, 2015
Mary T. Cavanagh, 84, of Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle, Penn. and formerly of Cornwall, passed away on Friday, July 17 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born January 13, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Louis and Wilham Gabby Jurkiewicz, she was the widow of James M. Cavanagh, Sr. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Washingtonville, N.Y.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise M. Cavanagh of Highland Mills, N.Y. and her son, James (Linda) Cavanagh of Carlisle, Penn.; and two grandsons, Spencer Cavanagh of Williamsport, Penn. and Jarrett Cavanagh of Carlisle.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 22 in the St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson with Rev. Andrew Kurzyna celebrant. Interment was in the Orange County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Goshen. A viewing was held before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church. Arrangements were handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
Anna J. Gilardo
July 8, 1929-July 3, 2015
Anna J. Gilardo of Cornwall peacefully left this world on July 3, surrounded by her loving family, to join her soul mate in Heaven. Born July 8, 1929, she was 85 years old.
Anna married James F. Gilardo August 2, 1952. She spent her life being the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother she could be. All those who knew her will remember her with love.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As well as sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
The family will receive visitors from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 24 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
There will be a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. on July 24 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to St. Jude’s Hospital; The Wounded Warriors Project; the Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
Hisae Sally Yearwood
December 15, 1925-July 18, 2015
Hisae “Sally” Yearwood of Cornwall entered into rest on Saturday, July 18. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Sadao and Katsu Kokura, she was born on Dec. 15, 1925 in Yokohama, Japan.
Sally graduated from Tsurumi High School and Yokohama-Yosat College. She worked at Bearse Manufacturing in New Windsor for 29 years as a sewing machine operator. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews who reside in Japan. She was predeceased by her loving husband Mr. William Yearwood.
There will be no visitation. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh,
