Angelika Graswald was arraigned in the Town of New Windsor Justice Court in the early hours of the morning, and is being charged with the death of her kayaking companion, Vincent Viafore.
Details of the arrest will be revealed at a press conference at the State Police Barracks in Middletown this afternoon.
On April 19, Ms. Graswald had called for help from her kayak after Mr. Viafore had allegedly fallen into the river without a flotation device.
