Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service for Joan Fernegg Ledoux at Cornwall Presbyterian Church, 222 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, at noon on Friday, April 24. A reception will follow at Canterbury Brook Inn, 331 Main St, Cornwall.
Lori R. Shaffer
July 30, 1958-April 9, 2015
Lori R. Shaffer passed away on April 9 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 56 years old.
The daughter of Henry and Jeanette Call Shaffer, she was born in Cornwall on July 30, 1958.
Lori was a police officer for the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson for several years. She cared very deeply for the rights of women and children, and was very active in working with Safe Homes of Orange County. She loved her family and animals very much, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Lori is survived by her son Brian (Katie) of New Windsor; by her sisters Darlene Shaffer of Cornwall, Terri Milliken (Barry) of Cornwall, Cindy Valicenti (Anthony) of Cornwall, Tracy Shaffer-Faitak of Cornwall; by her uncle Henry Call; aunts, Margaret Call and Harriet Worrell; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Her family received visitors on April 11 at the Quigley Brothers Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Services were held at the funeral home when the visiting hours were over. Cremation took place at the Cedar Hill Crematory.
Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, Kaplan Family Hospice Residence or COVAC (Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps).
