Louis A. Mele

Louis A. Mele, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into eternal rest on Apr. 2 at the VA Hospital at Castle Point, N.Y. He was 81 years old.
The son of Antonio Mele and Nicolena Bartolini Mele, he was born on May 15, 1933 in Newburgh. He was a sales representative for R.W. Henry in Newburgh.
Louis A. Mele honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church – Newburgh NY and a member of American Legion Post 353, in Cornwall.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Kathryn Post Mele at home; a son Bill of Fishkill, N.Y.; sisters Anna Mele Denton and Genevieve Mele Berardinelli; grandchildren Andrew and Bill; and several nieces and nephews . He was predeceased by his sister Mary Mele.
His family received visitors on April 7 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on April 8, and was followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.

Mildred Raab

Mildred Raab, a former resident of Cornwall, died April 1, in Burgaw, N.C. at the age of 94.
She was an active member of the Cornwall Ambulance Corps, Cornwall Little League, Storm King Engine Company #2 and Clan MacLeod. She is survived by her son Michael and wife Barbara, and her brother, James Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Raab, and her daughter, Marie Raab. Mildred was a longtime animal lover, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Monty’s Home Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 821, Burgaw NC 28425
