Sheila B. Ward

Sheila B. Ward of Cornwall entered into rest on Saturday, March 28 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital surrounded by her family.
The daughter of the late Michael and Mary Dicks Blaine, she was born on August 31, 1928 in Brooklyn, and was one of fourteen children.
Sheila moved to Cornwall with her family as a young teenager, graduated from Cornwall High School and married Joseph L. Ward on July 31, 1949. She was a former employee of New York Telephone and the Cornwall Central School District.
Survivors include her faithful husband of 65 years, Joseph L. Ward; children, Joanne (Ed) Fornusek of Bannister, Mich.; Joseph L. Ward, Jr. (Anne) of Scarsdale; and Mary Ellen Albarino of Cornwall. She will also be missed by her beloved grandchildren; Edward (Donnielle) Fornusek, Amy Fornusek, Tracy (Nicholas Sypher) Albarino, Patricia (Craig) Yustein, John (Emma Kennnelty) Albarino, Jr.: and her cherished great-grandchildren, Christa and Rachel Fornusek, and Julia and Adam Yustein. She is also survived by brothers Donald (Judith) Blaine of Cornwall, and Walter (Sue) Blaine of Matawan, New Jersey, and sisters Theresa (Raymond) McCowen and Patricia Clark. She was predeceased by brothers Jerome, Michael, Joseph and John Blaine, and sisters Josephine Wojehowski, Margaret Blaine, Joan Knittle, Mary Farley, and Dorothy Bull; and her cherished granddaughter Karen Marie Fornusek, who remains forever young.
Her family received visitors on March 30 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 31 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson, and was followed by interment in St. Thomas Cemetery.
