Laura Ann Capitano

Laura Ann Capitano entered into rest on Dec. 27 at Orange Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She is the daughter of Lillian and Richard Bertero of New Windsor.
Laura was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. She worked as a secretary at West Point and then was a waitress at Perkins and the Colonial Diner in Middletown, N.Y. for several years. Laura later was an employee of the Mid–City Transit bus company for ten years as a driver. She loved to travel and take vacations. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family, especially her two children and her three dogs and cat.
Laura was a kind hearted and loving person. She was loved by many, especially her family and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her two children, daughter Alexis Capitano and son Trever Capitano, both from Las Vegas, Nev.
Also surviving are her mother, Lillian Bertero of New Windsor; her sister Debra Marotta from New Windsor; her brother Stephen Bertero from Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and her sister Aimee Bertero from Cornwall.
She has many nieces and nephews who currently live in New York, Pennsylvania and California. She was predeceased by her father Richard Bertero in 2012.
Her family received visitors on Dec. 30 at Quigley Brothers Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass was due to be held on Dec. 31 followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in New Windsor.
