Gladys B. Kwait

June 23, 1922-November 17, 2014

Gladys B. Kwait of  New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Nov. 17 at New Windsor Country Inn. She was 92 years old.

The daughter of Conrad Brocking  and Caroline Will,  she was born on June 23, 1922 in Englewood N.J.

She earned her bachelor’s degree and was a retired executive secretary for NY Bell Telephone in New York City. Her family said that she will be missed greatly.

Gladys   is survived by her nieces Jacqueline and  Joseph Ruff of Highland Mills, Dorothy and Kenneth Schweizer, Nancy and John Geils, Carl and Helen Passera, Edward Kolankowski, Joannie and David Rinkavage, Peter and Lorraine  Kolankowski and Cousin Anna Grauso.

She was predeceased by her brother Warren Brocking  and niece and nephew Drew and Cheryl Brocking

There will be no public visitation.  A  funeral service will be held at a later time to be announced  at the New Windsor Country Inn.

Margaret  M. de Simone

October 18, 1939-November 20, 2014

Margaret  M. de Simone, of  New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Nov. 20 at St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital after a prolonged illness. She was 75 years old.

The daughter of  Karl and Katherine Hindinger  Hanft, of Richmond Hill, N.Y., Margaret was born on Oct. 18 1939 in New York City..

She was a graduate of the Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica, N.Y. and attended the Miserecordia School of Nursing in the Bronx. She was an active member of St Mary’s Parish in Washingtonville.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne M. de Simone of  New Windsor,  her son Christopher M. de Simone of Staten Island, and her brother Karl Hanft of New Fairfield, Conn. She was predeceased by her husband Maj. Frank M. de Simone, of the U.S. Army.

Her family received visitors on Nov 23  at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Nov. 24 at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville,  with Fr. Paul Dmoch officiating. She was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.
