Edythe M. Morina

May 7, 1919-November 8, 2014

Edythe M. Morina, a former long-time resident of Cornwall, passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home, in Goshen on Nov. 8. She was 95 years old.

The daughter of  Bertram Hockin and Irene Smith Hockin, she was born on May 7, 1919 in Congers.

Edythe was a devoted mother and loving wife who touched the lives of all the people she met. She will be missed greatly.

Edythe was pre-deceased  by her husband, Lawrence J. Morina Jr., and her daughter Sandra J. Morina. Her surviving children are: Marjorie A. Ronskavitz (Pompano Beach, Fla.), Robert L. Morina (Wallkill, N.Y.), James R. Morina (Lake Worth, Fla.), Joyce E. Klein (Calabash, N.C.), Lawrence J. Morina III, (Lake Worth, Fla.), Elizabeth A. Miles (Cornwall, N.Y.)  She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearl

Family and friends gathered at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson on Wednesday evening, Nov. 12. At the end of the visiting period, Pastor Julia Winward of the Cornwall United Methodist Church led a brief service. Her family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Edythe’s name and sent to the Cornwall United Methodist Church, 196 Main Street, Cornwall, NY 12518.
