Robert A. Lacourse
June 29, 1933-September 24, 2014
Robert A. Lacourse of Oldsmar, Fla. died on Sept. 24. He was 81.
Robert was an Army veteran, and a retired business teacher for Cornwall Central High School, where he also coached baseball and wrestling.
He was an avid baseball fan, who enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.
After retiring and moving to Oldsmar, he umpired local baseball games and coached an American Legion team. He also enjoyed spending time at “the track” with his friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Patricia; his son Peter Lacourse of Oldsmar; his daughter Jill Anderson of San Diego, Calif.; his grandchildren Krisandra, Abagail and and Brent of San Diego; Emily of Palm Harbor, Fla.; William and Nicholas of New York.
A memorial service was held on Sept. 27 at Holloway Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice.
Vance A. McCabe Jr.

Vance A. McCabe Jr., a former Cornwall resident who moved to the state of Florida, passed away surrounded by family at home on Sept. 26. He was 65.
Vance McCabe was born in West Point, NY to Vance McCabe Sr. and Madeline Peterson McCabe on Oct. 31, 1948.
He graduated from Cornwall Central High School, and was employed as a heavy equipment operator and retired from Conrail Railroad. He married Patricia Conrad on November 4, 1978. His greatest accomplishment and deepest source of pride was being a father. He was involved in all of his children’s activities. He coached softball and soccer for many years. He attended Central Florida Community College, while living in Citrus Springs, Fla. He resided in Spring Hill, Fla. for 28 years and also in New Port Richey, Fla.
He was happiest when he was with family and friends. He loved music and darts.
Survivors include his wife Patricia; son and family Jesse McCabe, Rita Herbison, and Austin McCabe (Grandson); daughters Andrea McCabe and Lori McCabe Smith, and her family Greg Smith, Leslie Smith (granddaughter), Jose Sierra (Grandson) and Lynae Smith (Granddaughter).
Vance was predeceased by both parents, a sister, and a brother.

Judy Ann Shannon

Judy Ann Shannon of Washingtonville entered into rest on Sept. 12. She was 74.
Judy was born in Nyack on July 24, 1940 to Grover William and Anna Marie (Meyers) Shannon. Judy was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved reading and helping people in her community but “hated Bingo.” She is survived by her sons, James Scott and his wife Nesrin Ainsworth of Eagles Crest, Colorado and Richard Ainsworth of Pearl River; daughters, Brenda Ainsworth of St. Petersburg, Fla., Tracy and her husband David Dunn of Spokane, Wash. and Kimberly and her husband Jason Curnow of Milton; grandchildren, Joshua and Shelby Dunn and Liam Pine; niece, Patti Robinson and nephew, Richie Apostle.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, Sept. 18 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation was private.
She was buried on Sept. 22 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack.
