William “Bill” Phair
February 19, 1935-August 9, 2014
William ‘Bill’ Phair of Highland Mills entered into eternal rest on Aug. 9 at Elant at Goshen.
He was the son of the late John and Margaret Casey Phair. He was predeceased by his brother John. He is survived by his wife Margaret; his children William and his wife Ellen, Patricia and her fiance Kevin, Christopher and his wife Dianne, Stephen and his wife Cindy; his six grandchildren, William and his wife April, Stephen Tinelli and his wife April, Jessica, Raquel, Carly and Christopher, and most recently his beloved great-granddaughter Mia Bella. Bill took great pride in his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to speak of their accomplishments.
Bill was an avid sports fan and a strong supporter of the Yankees, Giants and Rangers. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 aboard the USS Coral Sea.
He served 23 years with the NYPD retiring as Sergeant.After retiring he worked as a supervisor with Waldenbooks and U.S. Chess Federation. He was last employed at Cornwall Central High School in Security.
He had many happy memories of family events, including the years he went on camping trips with his family. And he often spoke of a favorite Maine vacation with family and dear friends. He enjoyed the senior trips, especially to Las Vegas .
Bill will be sadly missed but he leaves with our loving wishes for his journey home to God.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. in Cornwall-On-Hudson.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Highland Mills.
Burial with military honors will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
