Robert C. Cody

Robert C. Cody of Cornwall entered into rest on July 13. He was 67.
The son of the late Christopher and Dorothy Clapp Cody, he was born on May 19, 1947 in the Bronx.
Robert was a graduate of Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx. He was a proud member of the Iona College Goal Club, and an avid supporter of Iona College athletics. “Cody,” as he was known to most of his friends, was an active member of the Cornwall community, dedicating many years of service to Cornwall Little League as a coach and equipment director. He was retired from Allstate Insurance in Peekskill, where he was employed for many years.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, at home; sons Patrick and Kyle Cody of Cornwall; brothers-in-law Michael Creagan (Carol) of University Heights, Ohio and Daniel Creagan (Barbara) of Cornwall; plus several nieces and nephews.
Services were private and at the convenience of the family.
Vivian Smith Satterly
1928-2014
Vivian Smith Satterly, 86, died peacefully in her home after a long illness. Born in 1928 in Queens, N.Y., Vivian married G. William Satterly in 1949 and moved to Cornwall where she spent the remainder of her life. Vivian was an active member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and served as church Elder, Sunday School teacher, Youth Fellowship and Pioneers leader. She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie Scout leader. For the last several years she led an Adult Bible Study Group.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 65 years, George William; daughter Karen Staples and her husband Perry of Cornwall; daughter Faye Satterly of Virginia; son, Donald Satterly and his wife Sharon of Newburgh and grandchildren, Andy, Leah, Caroline, Eric, Stephanie, and Marc and great-grandchildren Karl, Erik, Madison, Quinn and Mylo. She is also survived by her brothers, Franklyn Smith and his wife Val of Long Island and Roger Smith and his wife Beverly of Florida along with many nieces and nephews.
The family was due to receive visitors at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street in Cornwall-on-Hudson from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 24. Funeral services will be held at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Route 94 and Jackson Avenue, on Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m.
