James E. Manley

September 30, 1936-July 3, 2014

James E. Manley, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on July 3 at St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. He was 77 years old.

The son of James V. Manley and Veronica Shaw Manley, he was born on September 30, 1936 in New York City.

James was a 1954 Graduate of Chelsea Vocational High School in New York City.  He retired from the New York State Thruway Authority in 1995.

Jim enjoyed the simple things in life which included his love of family and friends.  In his celebration of life he exemplified the belief you should love thy neighbor as you would love thyself.  He will be missed greatly.

James is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian Manley and daughter Angela Manley of Lower Salem, Ohio  and son James E. Manley, Jr., who resides in the Town of Newburgh.

The family was due to receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday July 10,  at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall –On-Hudson NY 12520, NY 12520.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday July 11 at the funeral home., and will be followed by internment in Cedar Hill Cemetery, in the Town of Newburgh.
