Patricia “Patsy” Doyle

Patricia “ Patsy” Doyle of New Windsor entered into eternal rest at home on June 7. She was 76 years old.
The daughter of Arthur J. Gildea and Bridget Herity Gildea, Patricia “Patsy” Doyle was born on Jan. 28, 1938 in New York City.
Patricia “Patsy” was an attendance aide for the Cornwall Central School District.
She was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Her family said that she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Patsy is survived by her husband Patrick J. Doyle at home; sons Kevin Doyle and his wife Jennifer of New Windsor, Tom Doyle and his wife Wendy of Cornwall; her daughter Kerry Doyle of New Windsor; brothers Arthur T. Gildea and his wife Patricia, and John Gildea and his wife Lucie Ann of Toms River N.J.; sister Irene Reynolds and husband Frank of Cornwall; brother-in-law Brian Doyle and his wife Eileen of Forked River, N.J.; grandchildren Ryan, Brendan, Tommy and Matthew Doyle; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Catherine Cronin, brother-in-law John T. Cronin and sister-in-law Eleanor Gannon.
Her family received visitors from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St. Cornwall-on-Hudson. Burial will be private.

Albert E. Jones
March 17, 1925-June 6, 2014
Albert E. Jones of Salisbury Mills entered into Eternal rest on Friday, June 6. He was 89.
The son of the late Edward and Delia Rynerson Jones, he was born on March 17, 1925 in Forest City, Penn.
Albert served proudly in the US Army in the Pacific during World War II. He was an active member of American Legion Post 1796 in New Windsor and also a lifetime member of Black Rock Fish and Game Club, the Cornwall/New Windsor Horse Thief Detecting Society, and the Cornwall Presbyterian Church. Albert was an electrician in Bloomfield, N.J. before moving to Cornwall in 1993. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include: his daughter, Barbara Piascik and husband Joe; grandchildren: Albert and wife Kevyn, Joseph and wife Melody, Christine, John and wife Christie, and Luke; sister Alice Davis and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Isabella G. Jones and his brother, Merv Jones.
The family received visitors on Wednesday, June 11 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 12 at Cornwall Presbyterian Church, 222 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson. Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.

Arline Simon
Born in the Bronx in 1927, Arline Simon lived in Washingtonville for 43 years. From very humble beginnings, she created the life she always dreamed of having. She enjoyed herself immensely, traveled all over the world, and shared everything she had with everyone. Her love and generosity brought her many friends, who we know will miss her. She will be sorely missed by her son Mark Simon, his wife Diane, her son Robin of Los Angeles, and her daughter Kitty Pandoliano, her husband Vincent, and her grandchildren Lea and Marina Pandoliano of Cornwall.
A memorial service was held at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson on Sunday June 8.
Kathryn “Kath” A. Sterling
November 5, 1953-June 2, 2014
Kathryn “Kath” A. Sterling passed away on Monday, June 2 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 60 years old.
Daughter of John William Sterling, Jr. and Lois M. Snyder Sterling, she was born November 5, 1953 in Ogden, Utah. Kath was a graduate of CUNY College of Staten Island. She was a longtime Great Kills resident and cheerleader for the Great Kills Vikings. She was a former New York State Employee working in the Manhattan area.
Survivors include her parents Lois M. Sterling of Cornwall and John William Sterling, Jr. of West End, N.C.; her brother John William “Bill” Sterling III of Greenwood Lake, N.Y.; her sisters: Patricia M.”Trish” O’Sullivan of Chester, N.Y. and Linda Donachie of Cold Spring, N.Y.; her nephews: Tory, Matt, Tyler, Keith, Shane, Jack & Gavin and her niece, Tanya.
The family received visitors on June 4 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe. A Memorial Service was held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, and was followed by cremation at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, N.Y.
