James T. “Burger” Gibney III

July 26, 1968-February 19, 2014

James T. “Burger” Gibney, III a lifelong resident of the area, passed away at his home on Feb. 19. He was 45.

The son of the late James T. Gibney, Jr. and Patricia A. Wilson, James was born on July 26, 1968 in Cornwall. James was the Valedictorian of his graduating class at Cornwall Central High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from RPI in Troy, and was a self employed information technology specialist.

James had a keen intellect and a passion for reading. He thought of others before himself and had a great compassion for animals. Although a private person, James treasured those who were dear to him and amused them with his unique outlook on the world.

James is survived by his sister Lisa Wiseman and her husband Bill of New Windsor and Jenn Pompilio and her husband Chris of Tampa, FL; his aunt Patricia Gibney of Birmingham, Alabama; three nieces and one nephew. James was predeceased by his parents and grandparents.

In keeping with the family’s wishes all services for James will be private.
