Jill Marie Brewer
November 28, 1965-December 17, 2013
Jill Marie Brewer, age 48, passed away Dec. 17 at Annie Penn Hospital, Reidsville, N.C., peacefully with family at her bedside after a long illness.
Jill was born to Paul and Evelyn Brewer on Nov. 28, 1965 at Cornwall Hospital.
She is survived by her mother Evelyn, brothers Jim, Jon and Jay. A second mom and loving sister-in-law Dorothy Brewer, Lisa Brewer, Dorothy Arsenua and Jeanie Brewer. Nieces Kayla, Leyna, nephews Brice and Hudson Brewer, several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her father Paul and brother Joseph.
Jill lived most of her life on Cedar Lane in Cornwall, where she visited her Gramma and neighbors. She loved swimming and picnics in the summer with her friends and relatives. For the last 5 years she resided with Mom and brother Jim in Danville, Va. She loved her dog Daisy, and she attended A.H.R.C. special ed classes in Newburgh and graduated from B.O.C.E.S. in Goshen in 1986.
Jill was a gift from God to all of us. She gave only love and was truly a joy to be with. She provided a laugh a day to her Mom with her comments and antics.
As a member of the Lord’s Church, she attended the Church of Christ in Danville, Va., and never wanted to miss assembly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jill Marie will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Mary Ann Todd
March 10, 1930-December 19, 2013
Mary Ann Todd, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Dec. 19 at her home in Cornwall.
The daughter of the late Harold and Lucille Iannone Brophy, she was born on March 10, 1930 in Newburgh. She was the widow of James M. Todd, and a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Highland Mills, the Rosary Altar Society, the Cornwall Yacht Club and the Women of Woodbury.
Survivors include her daughter, Tamara A. Romine and her husband Ed of Mountainville, and her three grandchildren: Braden Romine, Lauren Romine and Mackenzie Todd.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her son Dean P. Todd.
The family received visitors on Dec. 22, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe. A Funeral Mass was celebrated. on Dec. 23 at St. Patrick’s Church, in Highland Mills, and was followed by interment in the Cemetery of the Highlands, which is next to the church.

Joseph (Joe) Zupitza
December 24, 1927-December 17, 2013
Joseph (Joe) Zupitza, of Cornwall, died at home on Dec. 17 with his wife of 60 years at his bedside. He was 85.
The son of Charles Filatro and Lucille Zupitza, he was born on Dec. 24, 1927. He was married to Anne Zupitza.
After retiring as an insurance broker with Equitable Life Insurance, he owned The Little Store on Angola Road in Cornwall.
He was a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps, and he was a founder of the Girls Catholic High School Swimming Team in Brooklyn.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Zupitza, at home; his daughters Joanne Decker and her husband Stephen of Wycoff, N.J., Karen Bergin and her husband Kenneth of New Windsor, and Lynne Schweizer and her husband Scott of Cornwall; his son Robert Zupitza and his wife Therese of Newburgh; his grandchildren Stephen Decker and wife Meghan, William Bergin and wife Emily, Robert Zupitza, Dana Zupitza, Sean Bergin, Ryan Decker, Joseph Zupitza, Jessica Bergin, Matthew and Brien Schweizer, Kaylee Bergin and John Zupitza.
The family received visitors and a funeral service was held at Quigley Brothers Funeral Parlor in Cornwall-on-Hudson on Dec. 21.
