Georgina Maybury Weyant Ahl

Georgina Maybury Weyant Ahl, Dunedin, FL, 94, formerly of New Windsor, passed gently into her eternal life on Sept. 14. The daughter of George and Marie Wolf Maybury from Rahway, N. J., she was predeceased by her husbands Ellsworth E. Weyant and Pat Ahl as well as her son Robert Weyant and brothers George and Frederick Maybury and sister Therese Antunovlc.

A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and New Paltz Normal School she was a homemaker and teacher. After retiring from the Cornwall Central School District, she made her home in Dunedin, Fla. and Willsboro, N.Y.

Throughout her long life Georgina was open to new opportunities while enjoying reading, traveling, golfing and hosting her many friends and family at her Adirondack summer home on Lake Champlain. Her family was beloved to her and she took great pleasure being a part of their lives. She loved worshipping at the Kirk of Dunedin and was a former member of the Congregational Church in Newburgh.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Weyant (Frank) Pinckney of Hurley, NY and Margaret Weyant (William) Hauser of Cornwall-on-Hudson, as well as her “bonus” daughter Judy Ahl (Terry) Prindle of Chandler, AZ, grandchildren Georgia Weyant Dinio, Kristen Hauser Glass, Michael (Randi) Hauser, Jennifer Pinckney (Chris) Daviaux and Stephen Pinckney, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Georgina’s life was held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Kirk of Dunedin . A committal service will be held at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. on Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.

Josephine Demarest

December 21, 1924-September 10, 2013

Josephine Demarest of Cornwall died ay Elant at Fishkill on Sept. 10. She was 88.

The daughter of Michael and Rose Gallo Acocella, she was born in the Bronx on Dec. 21, 1924. She was married to the late Nicholas Demarest.
She was an alumnus of Hunter College and a supervisor with Social Services NY, NY.

Survivors include her sisters Margaret Calderalo of Cornwall and Antoinette Florio of Hamden, Conn.; her sister-in-law Angie Acocella of Long Island, and many nieces and nephews.

Her family received visitors on Sept. 16 at Hodder Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on the same day at St. Barnabas Church in the Bronx, and was followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.

Thomas F. Yetman

April 25, 1962-September 20, 2013

Thomas F. Yetman of Newburgh, formerly of Cornwall, entered into rest on Friday, Sept. 20 at home.  He was 51.

The son of the late Walter and Maureen Yetman, he was born on April 25, 1962 in Cold Spring, NY.

Thomas, an avid Nascar fan, loved fishing, boating and anything that had to do with the water. He spent many summers since childhood at Lake Bomoseen, Vt. with his family.

Survivors include: his daughters, Amanda Yetman of Wilmington, N.C. and Heather Yetman and her fiancé Casey Finley of Cornwall; sister Ann Yetman of Aiken, S.C.: a niece, a nephew and several cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5-7 p.m. at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson.  Services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.  Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.
