Marjorie Frances Delbaugh

November 14, 1938-August 26, 2013

Marjorie Frances Delbaugh, beloved mother and grandmother passed away  on Aug. 26 at Elant at Fishkill, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 74 years old.

The daughter of the late Anna and William Glanville, she was born in Cornwall on Nov. 14, 1938.

Marjorie was a retired secretary from the Treasurer’s office at the United States Military Academy. After retirement from the USMA, Marjorie and her husband John moved to North Topsail Beach, N.C. Her interests included gardening, volunteering for the Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and volunteering for Operation Top Cat Rescue. Her favorite part of retirement was spending time with her granddaughter Molly Fowler, especially walking on the beach and finding sea treasures.

Marjorie married the love of her life and grade school sweetheart the late John Delbaugh on Nov. 25, 1961. At the time of his passing they had been married for 43 years. Along with her parents and husband, Marjorie was predeceased by her sisters, Audrey Lewis and Arlene Glanville; and her brother-in-law James Delbaugh.

Survivors include her loving daughter Mindy Fowler and her husband John of Cornwall-on-Hudson, beloved granddaughter Molly Fowler of Cornwall-on-Hudson; sister Elizabeth Melley of Goshen; sister in law Karen McCormick of Highland Falls; brother-in-law William Delbaugh of Colorado; several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.

As per Marjorie’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial mass was celebrated on Aug. 28 at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, N.Y. Cremation and burial were due to be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie and John Delbaugh’s name to Sacred Heart Church of Highland Falls.

Stephen J. Kapczak

November 30, 1961-August 22, 2013

Mr. Steven J. Kapczak of Cornwall-on-Hudson died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 22 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall.  He was 51.

The son of John and Anna Samilo Kapczak, he was born on Nov. 30, 1961 in Bethpage, N.Y.

Steven married Alison Davies on June 26, 1993 in Cornwall.

He was a First Responder on Sept. 11, 2001, and retired from the New York City Department of Corrections as an undercover detective for Special Investigations. He worked at Rikers Island, and was the owner and operator of KAPKO & Sons, Inc. a construction and real estate development company.

Survivors include his wife Alison Kapczak at home; his sons Jonathan and Luke Kapczak at home; his mother Anna Kapczak of Glen Spey; his sisters Annie Caputo and her husband Paul of East Meadow, N.Y., Orysia “Irene” Lyons of North Babylon, N.Y., Kathryn Stansberry-Penafiel and her husband Pat of Massapequa, N.Y., and his nieces and nephews: Eric, Amanda, Nicholas, Kelly, Samantha, Emily, Christina and John.

He was predeceased by his father, by his grandparents Olga and Theodore Samilo, and Olena and Sam Kapczak, and by his brother-in-law Michael Lyons.

The family received visitors on Aug. 25 and 26, with a Panachyda Service held on the second day at the funeral home.

A Liturgy Mass was held on Aug. 27 in St. Volodymyr’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Glen Spey, N.Y. with Father Leo officiating. Burial followed at Glen Spey Cemetery.
