Lance Gayton
1951-2013
Sadly we need to share with you the passing of Lance Gayton, a devoted husband, loving father, and inspirational Pop.
Lance was taken from us tragically on Aug. 7. He was 61.
The son of Harold and Anita Gayton, Lance was born in Mountainville.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Gayton, with whom he shared an amazing marriage of 31 years, They were blessed with two children, Jennifer Gayton Hayes and Jason Lance Gayton. Lance was most joyous when spending time with his two grandchildren, Daniel and Sterling Hayes. Also surviving are Lance’s sister-in-law and husband, Ellen and Martin Walsh of Marstons Mills, Mass.
Lance was a true lover of family and home. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and travel. He worked for the Teamsters Union Local 445, until the mid eighties, and has since been employed by NYS Regional Maintenance, Palisades Division.
There was a celebration of Lance’s life, which included a sharing service, on Aug. 14 at 96 Long Hill Road in Highland Mills.

Frank Joseph Vatter
June 26, 1935-Aug. 7, 2013
Frank Joseph Vatter, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, died at the Joseph Rasso Hospice in New City on Aug. 7.
Joseph, 78, was born in Queens, on June 26, 1935, to Joseph and Clotilda Vatter. He was a retired machinist for the New York Daily News.
Survivors include: His sons, Michael Vatter and his wife Roselle of Newburgh, Douglas Vatter and his wife Margaret of Cornwall-On-Hudson, and Robert Vatter and his wife Maggie of Barrington R.I.; grandchildren: Andrew, Katharine and Thomas Vatter, and Emily, Colin, Drew, Gillian, and Graham Vatter. Joseph was predecesed by his wife, Joan Vatter, who passed on Aug. 2, 2012, and his daughter Karen Vatter.
