Ann P. Fitzgibbon

December 15, 1928-September 1, 2017

New Windsor

Ann P. Fitzgibbon, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest at home on Sept. 1. She was 88 years old.

The daughter of the late Thomas Francis Lee and Mary Agnes (Hearne) Lee, Ann was born on Dec. 15, 1928 in Brooklyn.  She was married to the late Vincent Fitzgibbon.

Ann retired after working as an administrative secretary at Holy Family Hospital in Brooklyn.  She was a member of the New Windsor Seniors Club.

Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and her happiness was derived from the joy of others, especially her family.

Ann is survived by her loving sister, Mrs. Dorothy A. Hatton; her nieces: Ann Turchiano of Brooklyn, Margaret (Lee) Choy-Shan of Cornwall, her nephew, Thomas J. (Elizabeth) Hatton of New Windsor; four great nieces: Alana (Tim), Caroline (Angelo), Diana (Ken) and Juliana; her great grand nieces: Mary and Stella; and her great grand nephews: Michael and Hunter. In addition to her husband, Ann was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Howard Hatton and nephew-in-law, Billy Turchiano.

Her family received visitors on Sept. 4 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held on   Sept. 5 at St. Mary’s Church, in Washingtonville. Interment followed the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Washingtonville.

Patricia A. Johnston

August 24, 1955-September 5, 2017

Cornwall

Patricia A. Johnston, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Sept. 5 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, with her family at her side. She was 62 years old.

The daughter of Frederick B. Lynch and MaryAnn F. (Tierney) Lynch, Patricia was born on August 24, 1955 in the Bronx.

“Patti was a tough lady,” her family said, “who loved her family and spoke her mind no matter what. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.”

She is survived by her loving husband, John A. Johnston at home; her son, Michael A. LoPresti, Jr. of Middletown; her daughter, Nicole Lynn Johnston at home; her sisters, Kathy Roma and Christine Pagan; and her brother, John Lynch.

Her family will receive visitors from 12. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, N.Y.

Elizabeth R. Roemermann

November 8, 1934-August 31, 2017

formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson

Elizabeth R. Roemermann entered into eternal rest on Aug. 31 in Rochester, N.Y., surrounded by her loving family.  She was 82.

“Betty” was born and raised in Sea Cliff, N.Y., the daughter of Lillian and William Rinas.  She attended the Roosevelt School of Nursing in New York City and was awarded her RN Certificate in 1955, later spending many years as a nurse at the Northern Westchester Hospital.  She and her husband lived in Cornwall-on-Hudson for 32 years before downsizing to a town house in East Rochester in 2012.  An avid bridge player and member of the American Contract Bridge League, she taught bridge to senior citizen groups when the family lived in Mount Kisco.  With her husband she did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and AARP.  Betty was a member of St. John’s Church in Cornwall, where she served in the Altar Guild for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald; her children Karen (Roger) Markham of Pittsford, N.Y. and Nancy (John) Staab of Cheshire, Conn.; four grandchildren, Steven (Tricia) Markham, Christopher (Jolette) Markham, Peter Staab, and Carrie (Nikolaus) Combs; and three great-grandchildren.

There were no prior calling hours. A Eucharist of Christian Burial was held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Fairport, N.Y. on Sept. 5 and was followed by a reception.  Interment is private.  Memorial donations may be sent to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 77 Country Corner Lane, Fairport, NY 14450.
