PIZZA RECORD
Prima Pizza shipped more pies this month than ever before to customers all over the United States. During a five-day period before Christmas, the restaurant prepared 124 pizzas for overnight delivery via Fed Ex.
Each shipped pie is flash cooled and specially packaged without preservatives. Customers can include a personal message.
HOLIDAY MIRACLE
Over the long holiday weekend, Rabbi Shmuel Serebryanski stopped at Ring’s Pond to check the menorah for a Dec. 27 ceremony. The menorah didn’t light and there was no one around to help until John of All Hands Electric LLC discovered the rabbi’s plight.
“We never met before,” the rabbi said. But the electrician took the menorah home, rewired it, and then brought it back without any charge.
RESOLUTIONS

JAN. 3 PICKUPS
Town residents who would normally leave their commingled recycling items out for pickup on Monday should leave them out on Tuesday, Jan. 3 instead.
WATER PROGRAM
The Cornwall Conservation Advisory Committee invites the community to a program at Munger Cottage at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4. Jay Beaumont P.E. will describe the principles of groundwater, and will discuss water supply and water pollution issues.
BUSINESS BRIEFS
The Hudson Valley Gallery is extending its “Double Vision” show until Jan. 29. The show features the work of brothers Paul and William Gould.
The gallery will start a Sunday Salon Series on Jan. 8 at 2:30 that will include talks, demos and critiques (as well as refreshments). There will be four sessions, during which artists can get tips for improving their paintings and drawings. Call 401-5443 for information.
Walden Savings Bank employees stuffed a van with 1,191 pounds of non-perishable food for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. The bank donated a dollar to the Food Bank every time a customer purchased a gift card.
World Wide Travel will lead a conversation on “All Your Travel” needs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5 at the library. Manuela Mocan will discuss travel for families, seniors and individuals. She’ll offer tips on traveling safely, controlling costs and finding new places to visit.
