Little League in-person signups next weekend

The familiar cry of “play ball” won’t echo across the Little League diamonds until April 22. But it’s not too early to be thinking about baseball or softball.

Cornwall Little League officials will hold registration at the shed next to the senior league field from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 and from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.

To be eligible, players must be between 5 and 16 years old and must reside within the Cornwall Central School District. The league requires birth certificates for players who haven’t provided them in the past.

There is a need for volunteers to help with umpiring, the concession stand, field maintenance, managing and coaching. There are also opportunities for sponsors.
