Edny Eriksen

April 26, 1923-October 4, 2015

Edny Eriksen of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into rest on Monday, Oct. 4.  She was 92.

The daughter of the late Josef and Amalia Nilsen, she was born on April 26, 1923 in Arendal, Norway.

Edny was an active member of Cornwall United Methodist Church.  She loved doing crossword puzzles in ink, and was an avid knitter.  She will always be remembered for her Norwegian sweaters and mittens.  Edny was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: daughters Annette Hart, RN and Joanne Rera and husband James; grandson Christian J. Benson; granddaughter AnneLisa Benson; adopted daughter, Kay Wright.  She was predeceased by her husband Eivind Eriksen, and her daughter AnneLisa.

Her family received visitors on Oct. 7 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A funeral service was held on Oct. 8 at the funeral home, and was followed by interment in Willow Dell Cemetery.

Barbara A. (Funck) Joslin

May 25, 1933-September 14, 2015

Barbara A. Joslin (nee Funck), age 82 of Amherst, N.Y. entered into rest on Sept. 14 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Herbert P. and Inez G. Clouser Funck of Cornwall, the eldest of three siblings.

After graduating from Cornwall High School in 1950, Barbara attended Utica Tech College and received an associate’s degree in 1952.

She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Joslin Sr. for 57 years, serving as his business partner for over 45 years in Joslin Enterprises. An avid gardener, she was a founding member of the Willow Ridge Garden Club in 1965, and was also a principal at Barbara’s Bouquets Flower Shop in Amherst.

She is survived by four sons: James Jr. (Pamela), Jeffrey (Karen), Jonathan (Denise) and Joseph (Jennifer). She was the beloved grandmother of Robert, Rachel, Alexander, Brandon, Caitlyn, Shelby and Spencer. She was the sister of Robert (Jacqueline) Funck of Cornwall and the late Kristina Laurenzano of Cornwall.

Family and friends joined in a celebration of Barbara’s life on Sept. 28 in Tonawanda, N.Y.
