NYMA head signs pact

On Aug. 4, Anthony Desa, the president of the NYMA Board of Trustees, announced that he had signed an agreement to sell the school to Global Preparatory Academies for $13.125 million. The transaction must still be approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Mr. Desa said that NYMA will retain its name and continue to function as a military school. A letter will be going out to facculty members and cadets.

At the time of the announcement, it was too early to comment on plans for the fall semester.
