Steven (Stevie) Patrick Pacenza Griggs, 52, entered into rest at Florida Hospital Celebration in Celebration, Florida on Dec. 14. He was born in Cornwall to Patrick A Pacenza Jr. of Cornwall and Patricia Rhodes Griggs of Marlboro, and was baptized at St. Mary’s in Newburgh.
Stevie was the chef and owner of Vinelli’s Catering in Lake Mary, Fla. recently selling the business to pursue a degree in counseling which he was doing at the time of his death.
Bernice P. Gill

Bernice P. Gill, of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into eternal rest on Dec. 22, at Wingate of Dutchess, Fishkill.
Born in Kingston, N.Y. to Frederick and Mable Jankowski, she was 93 years old. Bernice was married to Vincent J. Gill, who predeceased her in 1981.
Bernice was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church and an active member of Catholic Daughters of America. Earlier in her life, Bernice was employed by Ladycliff College and Highland Falls Library. She was a true New York Yankees fan and loved watching their games (except for when they were playing on the West Coast). Life would not have been complete without the Tuesday Card Players whom she enjoyed very much.
Robert (Bob) Warren Chatfield

Robert (Bob) Warren Chatfield of Lecanto, Fla. died on Dec. 13. A former Cornwall resident, he was 89 years old.
The son of the late Russell A. and Louisa Kane Chatfield, he was born in Cornwall-on-Hudson on Sept. 11, 1927. He was retired after working as a barber at the United States Military Academy and serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1949.

Lillian C. Pelella, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Dec. 6 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 92 years old.
The daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Scocco Villa, Lillian was born on May 15, 1924 in Beacon.
She was employed as a Handbag Sample Maker for Regal Bags in Newburgh for many years. She was an active member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson.

Elizabeth Connor of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Dec. 3 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was 60 years old.
Elizabeth is the daughter of the late John and Helen Foy. She was born on Feb. 27, 1956 in Rockaway Beach, Queens. She was a member of the St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Johann “Hans” Ganz

Johann “Hans” Ganz passed away on Nov. 23 at his home in Cornwall. He was 94 years old.
The son of the late Johann and Elisabeth Laches Ganz, he was born Aug. 30, 1922 in Engelsbrunn, Romania. Hans was a Tool and Die Maker with Star Expansion, in Mountainville.
Norman H. Jenkeleit

Norman H. Jenkeleit, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Nov. 17 at home with his loving family by his side. He was 50.
The son of the late Harry Jenkeleit and Marianne Henke Jenkeleit, Norman was born on January 16, 1966 in New York City.
He was a pharmacist for CVS in Cornwall and a graduate of St. John’s University School of Pharmacy. He chose his profession so he could help people. Norman was a loving father, husband and friend to all of us lucky enough to be in his life. He fought his illness under his terms, living to the fullest, always at peace with God’s plan. He considered himself blessed to have been given a year to spend meaningful time with his family. His strength through adversity is a lesson we hope his children will carry through life.

Joseph A. Amato, Jr. of Highland Mills passed away on Nov. 13 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.. He was 81.
Son of Joseph A. Amato, Sr. and Camille L. Peronti Amato Stout, he was born April 16, 1935 in Brooklyn.. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and both an Attorney and a Real Estate Developer. He founded Kent Companies of Highland Mills in 1965. He was a Founding Board Member of the Orange County Community Foundation, a director of the Hudson Valley Builder’s Association, a Trustee of the Saint Luke’s Cornwall Hospital and of Tuxedo Park School. He was an active member of many local organizations and a pillar of the community. He loved life; he was an avid golfer, sailor and skier and relished spending time with his family and friends. He was a very generous, big-hearted man who touched many lives.

J. O’Neil Kelly, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 4 at Saratoga Hospital, with his loving family at his side.
A resident of Ballston Spa, N.Y. for the last 11 years, O’Neil was born in Washington, D.C., in 1936 and was a graduate of Archbishop Stepanac High School, Cornell University and Fordham Law School. Prior to moving to Ballston Spa, O’Neil resided in Cornwall, where he raised his family with his wife, the late Carol Dexter Kelly. He retired from Sichol & Hicks Law Firm in 2006. O’Neil enjoyed spending time with his family, bad jokes, magic, reading, classical music, horse racing, and crossword puzzles.

A former Cornwall resident, Margie was a retired Clerk for MTA Metro-North Railroad (Conrail, NY Central and REA Express) in New York City.
